CAPPERS Children's Prayer Ministrycappers.jpg
CAPPERS is a ministry where children are furthered discipled in prayer. It was set up in March 2004 with only eight children. To date, God has blessed us with 26 members aged 7 - 14. We meet on alternate Saturdays and these children are taught biblical principles of prayer, worship, fasting and other spiritual disciplines. They also participate actively in intercession and worship leading.

The heart of CAPPERS is passion for Jesus. We believe that prayer can lead children into intimacy with God, and that they will be transformed into Christ-likeness through the ministry of prayer.

Ministry Experiences

To date, the children have been blessed with the following ministry experiences:

  • Led worship at the adult Prayer & Praise services on Children's Ministry weekend
  • Led prayers at the TRAC Festival of Praise
  • Some of them went on a mission trip to Cambodia, and others participated in intercession for the trips
  • Prayer walks
  • Ministering to one another through prayers
  • Ministering to old folks though prayer during a Christmas Caroling project

CAPPERS as a ministry is marked by:

  7. I will read my bible and pray regularly so that I will grow to love Jesus more. I will also write in my journal faithfully and share it with my leaders.
  8. When God speaks to me, I will share with others to encourage them.
  9. I will love and accept others just as Jesus has loved and accepted me

For Adults

  1. My first priority in leading children will be to help them grow in their prayer life based on the ministry of God's Word and His Holy Spirit.
  2. I will live my Christian life openly and obediently so others can see a role model which commends Christ.
  3. I will be regular and punctual in attendance and be regular for training (if any) so that I may develop my gifts of ministry to children.
  4. My sharing that is perceived to be from God must: a) Edify, b) Command the witness of the Spirit within the group.
  5. I will be a friend to the children and listen to their problems. I will answer the children's questions openly and honestly.
  6. I will be pastorally sensitive to the children's needs and seek help when their needs are deeper than my skills.
  7. I will commit to link up with the parents/guardians - to provide full information about the programmes, as well as update on how their children are responding in attitudes, behaviour, growing maturity and faith.
  8. I will love and accept others just as Jesus has loved and accepted me.
